Leave every morning with a full battery

No detour to a charging station, no charging card, and at a fraction of the price.

Why charge at home?

Charge where your car is parked anyway

  • Charging at home on your own solar power is by far the cheapest way
  • You charge when it suits you: at night, or during the day when the sun is shining
  • No detours, no waiting, no charging card needed
  • Safer than an ordinary socket, which is not made to deliver full power for hours on end
  • If you drive a company car, we choose a model with a certified meter, so your home charging is correctly passed on to your employer

Why we choose Peblar

Peblar is developed and built by Prodrive Technologies in Eindhoven, in its own automated factory. That is not a marketing detail: where most chargers consist of separately bought-in modules screwed together, Peblar puts everything on a single circuit board. Fewer connectors, fewer parts that can work loose, and a housing of barely 39 by 21 centimetres weighing around three kilos.

In practice it also means one thing less in your fuse box: 6 mA DC leakage detection is built in, so no separate type B residual current device is needed. That saves on installation costs.

The charger is resistant to weather (IP54) and to impact (IK10), and works from −30 to +50 °C. Outside on the wall or inside the garage, both are fine. Peblar gives a three-year manufacturer's warranty.

Honest figures

How long does charging really take?

From empty to full, charging losses included.

PowerConnection60 kWh battery75 kWh battery
3.7 kWSingle-phase, 16 A± 18 hours± 22 hours
7.4 kWSingle-phase, 32 A± 9 hours± 11 hours
11 kWThree-phase, 16 A± 6 hours± 7.5 hours
22 kWThree-phase, 32 A± 3 hours± 3.5 hours

In practice you rarely charge from empty to full, but from about 20 to 80 percent. In that case, count on roughly 60 percent of these times.

One thing sellers rarely mention: most electric cars have an on-board charger of at most 11 kW. A 22 kW charger will not charge those cars a minute faster. 22 kW only makes sense if your car can actually take it, or if you want to add a second charging point later. We tell you that in advance, even if it means you buy a cheaper charger.

Charging on what your panels have left over

The Peblar reads what is happening in the house through the P1 port of your digital meter. Two things follow from that.

Your main fuse does not trip. Switch on the oven, the dishwasher and the car at the same time, and the charger automatically reduces its power instead of tripping the fuse. This is called dynamic load balancing and it comes as standard on every model.

You charge on your surplus. Put the charger in solar mode and it uses exactly what your panels have left over at that moment. If a cloud passes, it drops with it. That way nothing goes to the grid that you could have put in your own car.

If you install several chargers, they share the available power between them.

One step further with Jullix

Link the Peblar to a Jullix energy management system and the charger becomes part of the whole: it takes into account not only your solar panels, but also your home battery, your monthly peak and, with a dynamic contract, the hourly price at that moment. The link runs over your home network and works with the 11 kW and 22 kW models.

One thing to know: as soon as Jullix takes over control, the settings are made there as well. The Peblar's own controls then no longer apply. In practice that is no loss: you manage everything from one app instead of two.

Company car

Do you drive a company car?

Then your employer wants to know how much you charged at home, and you want to be reimbursed correctly. Two things are needed for that.

A meter that counts legally

The Peblar Home Plus, Business and Dual have a MID-certified meter: the readings are officially calibrated and accepted by employers and leasing companies. The standard Home does not, and is therefore not suitable for reimbursement. That is the main reason to decide in advance what you need.

A charging card or platform that handles the billing

The charger measures, but does not invoice. That is done through a service provider such as MobilityPlus, which the Peblar Business works with. Your charging sessions go automatically to your employer or leasing company, and you can see them yourself too.

We set up the right link during installation. If you do not yet know which charging card your employer uses, let us know and we will find out together before we order a model.

A charger that suits your car

We look at your connection, your car and whether you need to pass costs on to your employer. Only then do we propose a model.
